Rooted in Christ · a seven-day journey

Seven days of Scripture, reflection, prayer, and small steps toward a life rooted in Jesus Christ.

Your journey progress

Progress is stored only in this browser, not an account. Clearing browser storage or changing devices can lose it. All days remain available to read at your own pace.

Day 1

Grace before performance

for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

Ephesians 2:8–10World English Bible (WEB)Read the full chapter ↗

A personal reflection

God’s saving grace comes before the good works He prepares for His people. Receive this passage as an invitation to trust Christ rather than prove your worth.

A prayer

Jesus, help me receive Your grace with humility and gratitude.

Faith in action

Notice one place you feel pressure to earn approval. Bring it to God in prayer.

Day 2

Made new in Christ

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17World English Bible (WEB)Read the full chapter ↗

A personal reflection

Paul describes the new creation found in Christ. Our hope rests in His transforming work, not in presenting a flawless image of ourselves.

A prayer

Lord, teach me to live from the new life You give.

Faith in action

Write down one habit you want to bring under Christ’s care.

Day 3

Christ living in me

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.

Galatians 2:20World English Bible (WEB)Read the full chapter ↗

A personal reflection

Paul points to life by faith in the Son of God, who loved him and gave Himself for him. Christian identity begins with belonging to Jesus.

A prayer

Jesus, let Your love shape the way I live today.

Faith in action

Pause before one decision today and ask how it can honor Christ.

Day 4

Remain in Him

I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15:5World English Bible (WEB)Read the full chapter ↗

A personal reflection

Jesus compares our dependence on Him to branches remaining in a vine. Fruitful living grows from relationship with Him, not self-sufficiency.

A prayer

Lord Jesus, keep me close to You.

Faith in action

Set aside a quiet moment to read John 15 and pray honestly.

Day 5

The beauty of the heart

Let your beauty come not from the outward adorning of braiding your hair, and of wearing gold ornaments or of putting on fine clothing, but from the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight.

1 Peter 3:3–4World English Bible (WEB)Read the full chapter ↗

A personal reflection

Peter directs attention to the hidden person of the heart and a spirit that is precious in God’s sight. Let outward expression be shaped by the character Christ grows within.

A prayer

God, grow gentleness and trust in my heart.

Faith in action

Choose a gentle response in a conversation where you might usually react quickly.

Day 6

Walk by the Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22–25World English Bible (WEB)Read the full chapter ↗

A personal reflection

The fruit Paul describes is the Spirit’s work in a life belonging to Christ. These are invitations to growth, not a comparison chart for judging others.

A prayer

Holy Spirit, shape my life in love and self-control.

Faith in action

Choose one fruit named in the passage and practice it in one specific interaction.

Day 7

A life offered to God

Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.

Romans 12:1–2World English Bible (WEB)Read the full chapter ↗

A personal reflection

Paul begins this appeal with the mercies of God. Offering our lives is a grateful response to mercy, expressed through worship, renewed thinking, and obedience.

A prayer

Father, receive my life as an offering of gratitude.

Faith in action

Choose one ongoing act of service and one passage to return to in the coming week.

Rooted in Scripture

A life surrendered to Jesus.

A reflection

The foundation of this space is Jesus Christ. These passages invite us to offer our lives to God and honor Him in everything we do.
