For a long time, I kept this part of our lives close.
Some of our family and friends don't always understand how difficult life is for Gracie, and I never really opened up about it on my own social media. But Gracie has given me permission to tell you what she goes through — and she wants to advocate for herself. She doesn't want to stay stuck in this place anymore.
Watching her step out of her comfort zone has been one of the bravest things I have ever seen.
A part of her every single day is speech therapy. With apraxia of speech, that means she has to work — really work — at words most of us never think twice about: communicate, speaking, talk, ability, different, empower, peace, people. And she shows up, and she tries, day after day.
So we want to bring you along on this journey with us. Each day we will be posting a video here and to Instagram — little windows into her days, the hard parts and the victories. If you would, give her a follow so she can reach more young people as an example of the amazing life she lives.
We believe with our whole hearts that God is growing her through this, big time. And we would love your prayers and your cheers as she keeps pushing past what used to hold her back.
