Sometimes you put your whole heart into something — you prepare, you pray, you show up ready — and then life asks you to step back.
This weekend, I won't be walking the stage at the pageant I was so looking forward to. Something has come up that needs my attention, and I need to listen to that.
I want you to hear this, especially if you've ever had to let go of something you wanted: stepping back is not failure. It's not quitting. Sometimes it's the bravest, most honest thing you can do. Sometimes it's just... living. Tending to what matters most, trusting that the door you were meant to walk through will still be there — or that a better one is waiting.
I'll be cheering on every woman on that stage this weekend. And I'll be back.
With love, Ruth
